Social Networking…We’ve Come a Long Way, Baby…
July 1st, 2009At the risk of coming off a bit Al Gore-esque, I’ve been social networking on the Internet since 1967; of course, that was back when I was the youngest guy in the country to hold a Technician’s license for Ham Radio. And back then, it was Morse code with a Heathkit crystal set transmitter we built from parts at Radio Shack.

When we made contact, we traded addresses, sent Call Sign (screen name) Postcards (icons) to each other snail-mail, and pinned them to a board in our radio rooms (buddy list). I even set my sister up with a date once (that was when on-line dating was safe).
Now its ubiqutous with options and opportunities that are endless; and you don’t need a license. If you want to to work with Gen X & Y, you gotta do it. With nearly 50% of the business in first-timers and investors, how can you not?
Today’s buyer wants us to communicate with them on their terms. NAR has a wonderful “Field Guide to Social Networking for REALTORS® here…
